Analog synths without PWM: Why?

Some analog synths were made without PWM such as Roland JX-3P, JX-8P, Korg Poly 800, DW-8000 and 6000 (Hybrids). But Why?

Back in the old days PWM was used as a way to imitate the chorusing effect that 2 Oscillators make when they are slightly detuned.
Synths that had 2 oscillators usually did not have this feature , because they were capable of producing this effect without PWM. A classic example is Korg MS-10 (had PWM) and Korg MS-20 (did not).
PWM on early digital synths was difficult to implement , obviously due to lack of processing power.
There is an interesting article on Sound on Sound's synth secrets series about how to achieve the PWM effect on synths that dont have this option.

The synths like DW8000 used digital waveforms that had no way to do PWM. They were static waves.

PWM is no different than any number of other oscillator-related functions found on analogs, like ring modulation, hard and soft sync, cross mod (FM), etc. that appear on some synths and not on others.

From what I know all the JX series synths are both two oscillators but have no PWM, same with the Poly800 also two oscillator. I know the Jupiter 8, Prophet 5, and OB series of synths all have PWM.

The answer is likely production costs. But PWM is achievable on the JXs' utilising osc sync, and on the DW 8000 using the delay.
