Hello Again - The Cars - synth sounds

Post by cwillis1999 » Wed Oct 17, 2018 5:44 pm

Hi all ... anyone know how to replicate a few sounds in Hello Again .. specifically the chords that play at the very beginning of the song (and throughout it)... also, the softer keyboard backing that you hear during all the verses. I have a Fairlight, JP-8, DX7, Synclavier, and Proph 5 but I've been pulling my hair out not being able to get the sounds just right ... any help much appreciated!

Maybe those chords are from a Memorymoog. He used one as part of his setup on the Heartbeat City tour, so presumably one was also used on the album.

a quick search of this forum should have got you to this thread:

TL;DR - the famous SYNC sound is a Jupiter 8. The thread also talks about other synths used on that song, FX and mixer.
