SY77

Post by Tekhed66 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 2:49 pm

I just missed out on a SY77 on ebay.

I dont really need another synth but this one caught my interest.

I'm just venting here because my other half doesn't even know what a synth is so it's no use trying to get any sympathy from her....

(sigh) :|

You don't need another complicated FM synthesis based toy which takes 3.5 hours to disassemble whenever you need to perform maintenance or upgrades (display replacement, etc.)

Look at that as a loss of an auction, but an incredible gain in free time to enjoy and explore all the great things you already have!

And I mean that in the most understanding, supportive, and gear-loving way possible

Yamaha made some nice synths, with some great edge. I picked up an SY35. I love tweaking it to see where it will go. I've pulled a few great sounds from it that I've been using in my current writing.

Rasputin does have a point, though...

Did you have half a room to dedicate to it?

The SY99 is better if you have the space.
