The most annoying thing I find with modern analog are their 49 keys: 61 isn't the norm anymore...
Available for sale:
-Chamber of Sounds Jupiter III (mk1) & Jupiter T (mk1)
-The Complete DX7- Howard Massey (with original enclosed sounds on soft disks)

Some good modern polys out there.
Prologue 8 or 16 would be good since they now fixed the tuning.
Moog One is really expensive
OB-6 or Prophet 6 could be good, considering they have rack versions, which are cheaper and so could be controlled by your K2000 or other capable gear by MIDI cables.
Novation Peak is a module, so again you could use capable gear.
JD-Xa could be good too.
For vintage you can’t go wrong with an Akai AX-60 which is basically a similar synth.
Other similar synths to the Juno are
SX-240 (has 2 oscillators, but can develop battery leak problems)
Poly-61 (same as SX-240 with battery, and also has 2 oscillators, has the 80’s sound)
Also you could look at an old VA synth. Maybe a Nord Lead 1, JP-8000, or Prophecy.
Alpha Juno would be nice since it has the mid-late 80’s sound you seem to like. You can find one for cheap.
Juno-60 still is nice though. I’d look for one if it was about $500-$700 since $1,200 seems like too much to me.

Korg, Casio, Alesis, and Yamaha (Minilogue, WK-7600, SK-1, CT-X3000, SR-16, MX49)
FL Studio 12, VSTs, MIDI keyboard
Non synths include string, woodwind, percussion, and toys for SFX.

Im new to synths, but found myself falling down the rabbit hole. How much do you think is a reasonable price for a Roland Juno-60? I have a minilogue, which was a great start, but Im looking for something more.

Re: Still possible to get a Juno 60 for a good deal?
I don't know what a reasonable price is per se, but I got harassed when I tried to sell a Juno-60 here for around $700 in the past by people saying the price was too high. No matter what value it is, I feel like people will always think it's too high, unless it goes back to that brief period of time where it was a few hundred dollars usd.
I love the Juno I have left, and I don't see myself selling it even if it hits the $2000 mark. If I'm coming up dry trying to add a part to a track with some other piece of gear, I can usually fall back on the Juno or sh-101 which are one giant sweet spot and come up with something that works perfectly for what I was trying to create. Other instruments can be more complex, but sometimes it takes more to coax something of the same quality out of them. The Juno-60's simple sounds and architecture need very little coaxing, and so at least for me, having one around is very rewarding! Plus it looks cool!

This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Where are the good old days of the $200 Junos??? i.e. about 2005
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Jumping from a Minilogue to a Juno doesn't strike me as a great use of your money. The Juno actually has fewer features than the Minilogue, so can do far less sonically, even if to your ears it might sound better at some things. Then again, once you hear it you might think it sounds no better, or perhaps worse thsan the Korg!BrettWebb wrote:Im new to synths, but found myself falling down the rabbit hole. I would suggest instead looking for a used Dave Smith Prophet 08. The prices on these are falling because of the introduction of the Rev2 version. Not only easier to find in good condition than a Juno, it's a massively powerful machine. You can probably find one for under $1000 and it could keep you busy for years due to it's very flexible modulation routings (three EGs, four LFOs, four track mod sequencer). Plus it has a very nice 61 note keyboard with velocity and aftertouch (which you also might find useful for playing your Minilogue via MIDI).

But that was 14 years ago, when they used to have a show. Now it's a disco...meatballfulton wrote:Where are the good old days of the $200 Junos??? i.e. about 2005

It was probably around 2010-2012. Definitely by 2012!fh991586 wrote:Harassed for a $700 Juno-60?!? When was that?

Re: Still possible to get a Juno 60 for a good deal?
I bought a Juno6 for $300 on ebay, and a 60 in 2006 for $450, already on the upswing at that point.
