Yamaha Releasing Updated CS-80

Post by AnalogKid » Wed Apr 01, 2020 1:50 pm

Yamaha's has announced that they will be releasing what is essentially an updated version of the legendary CS-80. The new version has full size keys with poly aftertouch and is real analog with patch memory. It will sell for $3999.

Here's a link to a page with information and photos. It looks awesome:

I'd say hooray if it weren't for 1st April...

Oh sure. Instead of rolling with it, you ruined the ride. :---)

I'm a notorious party-pooper.

You should have posted it on 2nd April. Or 31st March, for that matter. I might have been a little more enthusiastic then, just a matter of bad timing.

I could see Yamaha doing this. They are arguably the greatest company of all time

When I was a kid at a theater watching The Empire Strikes Back, a guy in the row in front of me turned to a person next to him and said in a loud enough voice so that everyone around could hear him, "Coming up is where they show that Darth Vader is Luke's Father."

Not cool! :---) That spoiled it for me as well as for my brother and the friends that we were with, and perhaps others around us as well.

Was that guy you?

Regarding a CS-80 reissue, yeah, that would be cool. I'd be surprised if Yamaha did it. Maybe we'll see something like this down the road from Behringer:

I would love to plead guilty but I'm afraid it wasn't me.
