Casio VZ, the only one bank of sounds that was missing from the entire web! [modified]

Post by SerialSinger » Tue Apr 14, 2020 6:22 pm

Hello community! Is there anybody here who can provide a sysex dump of the second bank of the Casio RC-140 "Hi Powered" card for the Casio VZ-series synthesizers? It's the only Casio VZ factory soundbank missing on the entire web!!!

The first bank of the same card is already available on a few sites, together with all the other Casio cards' banks.

Thanks in advance!

Ya I think it's been like this forever. I have one here called "RC140B1" but that probably stands for "RC-140 Bank 1". Try it anyway:

If it's any consolation, Andrew Schlesinger's Powerplay VZ bank is vastly superior to any of the others. You probably have that!

Sigh! I compared your file and it's obviously bank one of that card, which I already found in the past.

How can I recognize the Powerplay bank in the big bunch of files that I collected from the web? Does it have a specific name? I couldn't find a dump with a name related to it...

Maybe it's easier to (re)download it somewhere?

While waiting for a dump to come... Here are the lists (PDF and XLS versions) of base sounds and combis included in that bank:

Ah, my mistake. Andrew's bank is called "Master RAM" not Powerplay- that was the name of his book.

OK, perfect. I read something about it some time ago, and I surely have it!

AT LAST! Here it is, thanks to Stephen Pariah on the Facebook VZ group, who dumped his own card!

Now the VZ chronology is available in full to humankind :D
