Korg DW-8000 question

Post by old man » Fri Jul 24, 2020 4:25 pm

The battery in my Korg DW-8000 is dead. Thus there's no sounds and the display is locked on "TAPE" (like it expects me to load sounds/programs from tape) so I can't set the midi-parameters.
Do I have to fix the battery (which is a little tricky on this model) even if I just want to use the synth as a mother keyboard for a sampler?
Anybody knows?

I take it you have nothing to connect it with to see if the MIDI still works. My guess is no, but who knows.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Sounds like the "tape enable" switch is flipped on.
