Roland Alpha Juno 2 PG300 replacement Modification

Post by sparkytupp » Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:48 pm

I've got together a demo of a little project that I've been dabbling with for a while now. Basically it's a replacement for the PG300 ctrlr for the Alpha Juno. It uses an EasyControl midi controller that sends CC midi messages to a Raspberry Pi. The Pi is running Ctrlr and I have modified a pre-existing PG300 panel to accept the CC messages and update the slider position on the screen. When the slider moves it sends the relevant System Exclusive message to the Alpha Juno and this modifies the parameter. This is then output to a small LCD display, but as it uses HDMI any size screen can be plugged in. It would also be possible to use a touch screen though I haven't tried that yet.
Videos of the system in action below.
