Mark Isham the hitcher score end credits
Hello, I recently saw several posts in here about the equipment Mark used to create the wonderful and atmospheric Hitcher score.
Might anyone know after listening to the end credits.. the preset he used to create that wonderful pad sound.. its airy and well done.
I have most of the plugins of what he owned and cannot nail down that sound. I have a juno 6 roland and the preset Voix Uno sounds close but is off...
might anyone be able to help me here.. I can help upload the end cue and figured with the knowledge of synthesizers that everyone has in this room that someone might be able to help. I appreciate the help
thankyou
here is the link to the cue
I cannot seem to upload the mp3 here

Upload the audio or provide a YouTube link.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Don't know the clip, but Mark Isham doesn't get mentioned enough. He has a buchla modular he posts jams on instagram with. Really could be anything, and likely isn't a preset.
Fun fact, he also played trumpet for David Sylvian of Japan.

Oh cool! Did not know this. He's a seriously amazing musician.Jabberwalky wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 12:14 pmDon't know the clip, but Mark Isham doesn't get mentioned enough. He has a buchla modular he posts jams on instagram with. Really could be anything, and likely isn't a preset.
Great to see someone else on here who appreciates his music. Some of the best albums ever made. Especially Secrets of the Beehive. David's a dab hand on the Prophet 5 and the Nord. Barbieri credits him with most of the work on Tin Drum.Jabberwalky wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 12:14 pmFun fact, he also played trumpet for David Sylvian of Japan.

Isham fan here too.
In fact he used to be around quite a bit on the early Logic users mailing list back in the 90s, which is actually how I first became aware of him, I think...

Also with Van Morrison. Check out that Miles-style intro.

Isham on synth and trumpet, Morrison on piano (no vocals!)

Now that's a session I would NOT like to be on. One mercurial, the other a very crazy person.meatballfulton wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 5:18 pmAlso with Van Morrison. Check out that Miles-style intro.

That's just fantastic. The end credits to the hitcher really got to me on multiple levels... the pad sound sounded ethereal, airy, lost and desolate...
Its one of the best pad sounds and to me was never used or heard again.
Trying to recreate it and cannot nail the pad
If any musicians on here have many vintage synths please let me know.
The Roland Juno 6 choir sound is close.....
