I've got to add the beautiful stringsound of the GX-1 on Stevie Wonder's Village Ghetto Land. Benny Andersson use a similar sound on Abba's Lay All Your Love On Me. Pure beauty! :)

Just about all the Goa and Psy tracks I have right now blow my mind. I'm currently listening to Insanity by Talamasca. Damn. I don't like many things from France (no offense just not my style) but this dude/group kick(s) f**k a*s!!

I also love the sound of the 303 through a nice nasty distortion
I love complex evolving pads, digital and analog.
and non synth related I love the sound of my fiance's laugh. It makes me want to make her laugh harder.

the calm guitar in Jaga Jazzist - All I Know Is Tonight
Vangelis brass with LFO kicking in slowly
the first 2 seconds of the Clockwork Orange maintheme is enough to hypnotize me.

Aww you like your girly's laugh...hehehe. :P I love mine's, too...she's got such a weird but cute laugh. Makes me treat her like a puppy. :D
If you like 303s, check out this demo of Phoscyon; that's the built-in distortion right there. Other patches have different distortion already implemented. I am in love. I found out about that synth today when checking out Audiorealism's website to check out their new product. Anyway, I like Phoscyon more than the ABL.

Anyway, I love:

*Detuned saws
*Sine basses
*Distorted 303s
*PWM leads
*Pulse leads/basses
*filter-sweeped pads
Current synths:*Yamaha AN1x *E-MU Xtreme Lead-1 *Novation Nova
Past synths:*Access Virus Rack *Korg Prophecy *Clavia Nord Rack 2 *Roland MC-505

I love pedal steel. And harmonica. And Neil Young's voice. Separate or combined. Hey, why not throw a fiddle in the mix. And an old Martin acoustic guitar. What's there not to love? You are welcome to hate me :D

The Oberheim OB-X/Xa/8 series. Don't know what it is about them, but I really love the way they sound. The SEM is great, too.

Metal clanks and blips that have a little bend to them.

dead sea scroll lead sounds a la BBC Radiophonic Workshop/Raymond Scott/Boards of Canada .. what have you...

Electronic kicks that make it so you can't stand still(Might need a time machine to hear this correctly)

i love:
the sound of a resampled synth patch absurdly layered and f**k over on a sampler
the sound of a couple of breakbeats getting juggled on 2 turntables
trash can/woodblock drum kits and kick drums
minimalist melodies
very lush but colored recordings coated with flutter and magnetic inconsistancies from the tape
nes style triangle waves

edit: also the beginning of "let forever be" by the chemical brothers
Image
blunted daydreaming

I love all sorts of sounds to many to even bother listing but here are a few of them

instrument wise i like
8bit beeps and bloops
Lush sleep enducing pads
mellow lightly overdriven jazz guitar
toy piano sounds
fuzzed out glitchy guitars and synths
drums that have no identifiable beat or an extremly simple one
epic sounding strings
power metal riffs are also fun to listen to

Non-music wise
nature sounds like birds, water, the wind, animal noises
creepy ambient noises
static noises with lots of effects over them
circut bent toys
weird industrial noises

i'm a weird one arn't I
My gear:roland GR-20, alesis QS 8.1, synth factory, guitars ,and a bunch of effect pedels
