guitarists not using em much?

i would love to use one ><

edit:
infact I should totally bring my bass synth out for shows....
one should always bring a bass or guitar synth to every show.
right now i drive my microKorg with it.
but i was thinking of getting a metasonix tm-3 (vco) or wretchmachine to pair up with my bass synth.

it just so happens my bass synth only has like less than 2 octaves worth of notes on which it tracks... (just like the prior mentioned metasonix devices )
...simply put..

Metasonix is the choice for all self respecting meta-humans...
(meta-humans currently known are trolls, orcs, dwarves, dragons.....)

That's a great live (and studio!) set-up bro
Checking out your myspace there, cool...

With the right road cases I'll bet most of that rig could fly under the 2 X 32 KG check-in rules!

Can't believe you got all that on 2 stands...you get the most densely populated synth award!
Thanks!
Except....
It's all on ONE stand!

we are a 3-piece band, we play electronica/rock

1 on drums
1 on bassguitar

me on sp-404, microkorg and guitar.

the sp-404 makes it possible to play both guitar and synth live for me.

Current live setup consists of:

Ultimate two tier stand
Korg Ms2000 on the top tier
Nord Lead 2x on the bottom

MXR Phase 90 and Boss FZ-2 Hyperfuzz plugged into the Lead.
No one cares, no one sympathizes,
so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

I don't play live...but if I did... I'd use one of a few different set-ups...

Monomachine / Machinedrum UW ...no tweaks. Just played back loops in song form.

SP-404 loaded with full songs and used as basically a play back device...

or a laptop with Ableton live ...again used basically a play back device for my tracks...

because I'd have to concentrate on my rhymes.

current band, Alpha Channel:

If I had a "live set-up" as a keyboard player, it would currently be:

(bottom to top)
Roland JX-10
Korg 05rw
Alesis QS6

(off to left)
Minimoog Voyager Electric Blue

If a miracle happens, that bloody Yamaha CP70 piaon of mine will find its way into my apartment (and under the Minimoog).
The greatest thing we ever have is the will to survive.

Rest in peace, Dr. Robert Moog.

a red Ted Brewer Electric Violin running through a Dunlop Wah and Echo Delay modeller. Soon to be running through either a Moog MF101 or Frostwave resonator instead.

Don't play synths much live but if I did it'd have to be the Evo, I can jam on that thing for hours, it's got such a good keyboard.

nowadays i use an alesis fusion packed with over 3gigs of soundfonts covering classic synths and keyboards, ethnic, crazy loops, 8bit, orchestral sounds and everything else...and my an1x for some live tweakability and some prog like synth solos :) x

In the past; Yamaha RS7000 & Access Virus.

Currently working on a new live set (progressive/trance I guess ) with:

Yamaha RS7000
Access Virus TI
Elektron MachineDrum
Novation SuperNova II

The RS7000 limits me to 16 midi channels only; routed internally or externally (2 midi outs) and is the master clock. Great for hands on control and flexibility on the fly.

6 midi channels on the RS7000 playing internally to trigger samples (vocals and some drums, 64mb ram)

5 midi channels triggering the Virus TI (Multi-Seq mode)

4 midi channels triggering the SuperNova II (Multi mode)

1 midi channel triggering patterns on the MachineDrum and tweakage as required.

Did use just the RS7000 and Virus; but had issues with the limited polyphony count on the Virus; hence the integration of the SNII as well for more/different fire-power.
