Don't forget this gem--Jesus on a Juno:
Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster | Squier CV Duo-Sonic | e6400 Ultra | Blofeld | a bunch of effects

This last video is a killer one...

The attitude of the musician is so great, and don't fit to the music.

Thanks for sharing this Juno 6 video.
It is much easier to be a good equipment purchaser than to be a great musician.

Nope, nope, nope. "Borderline" was Minimoog bass, Fender Rhodes and Prophet 5 lead, arpeggio and brass sounds.

One iconic '80s female artist, though that DID use Juno-60 all over her album was Cyndi Lauper; Pretty much 90% of the synths on the She's So Unusual album was Juno-60.
Well, I'm glad I can at least recognize a mini when I hear one!

speaking of Cyndi-I was wondering about Girls just wanna... and that plucky solo sound... I can't remember if the juno has auto-trigger on the lfo, but that seems like the only way that sound could be made, unless they were triggering the arpeggiator externally.

The Juno does have auto trigger on the lfo, but that sounds like a resonance only patch with keytrack and they're using the arp to make it repeat quickly.

yeah, I agree. And pitch bend to do the little phwew, phwew sound at the end of the solo.

I believe it was the staple synth on The Locust's S-T LP (not the 7"). If you want to hear what weird places that thing can go, check out songs like:

"Moth-Eaten Deer Head"

"Backbones of Jackasses"

"Stucco Obelisks Labeled As Trees"

"23 Full-Time Cowboys"

and

"Well I'll Be a Monkey's Uncle"

their later stuff had some really impressive use of Moogs (a Multimoog on "Plague Soundscapes" and a Voyager on New Erections)

horrible sound quality, but a nice look at the Juno 60.

david harrow used it as a main synth on many 80's anne clark albums: changing places, pressure points, joined up writing... check out her 'wallies' maxi, i think it's 808+juno60 straight.

It's all over the Cyndi Lauper album, She's So Unusual. It's used on songs like "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "She Bop," "All Through the Night" and (probably my favorite obscure cut from the record) "Witness."

Has anybody already mentioned "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne? I've definitely spotted it in the video.

Also, has there been mention of the Men At Work album Cargo? The Juno 60 is featured on "It's a Mistake," in which Greg Ham wired two 60's together through the DCB buss for a layered piano/pad sound.
The greatest thing we ever have is the will to survive.

Rest in peace, Dr. Robert Moog.

That whole early Virgin Records era of Cabaret Voltaire is loaded with Juno 60. You can listen to The Crackdown, The Covenant ..., MicroPhonies and it's on a lot of songs.

Love the cabs and fad ... reason I'm into synths :)

I remember reading about this too but I saw a photo somewhere that showed a 106, not a 60. And the 'Kayleigh' video below shows a 106 above the DX7 (@ 22 seconds and later)

Yeah you're right, that video definitely proves it was a 106.

Most likely "60" must have been a misprint then. Also, the fact that Mark mentions
in the article that the only reason he got it was to link to the DX-7 --would
indicate it was a 106 since the 60 wasn't equipped with MIDI, that is unless he used
the MD-8 DCB to MIDI interface.

They did indeed use a Juno-60 (Roland SH-09 and Prophet 5) during the '83 tour and on the '84 album "Touch", but afaik the bass-riff on the album version of Sweet Dreams was recorded with a Roland SH-09/CSQ-100/Space echo combo.
Sweet Dreams was recorded in late '82 but I don't think they had a Juno-60 until after the album had been completed.
In Dave Stewart's 'Songbook' he says the riff is a mixture of a SH-101 and the string patch from a Kurzweil (? which Kurzweil)
