What songs has the Juno-60 been used on?
I recognise its bright, warm sound of some 80's records. What songs was it used in?

I am willing to bet that the seashore preset... 77, I think, was used on Limahl's hit "Neverending Story". Otherwise, it's all over most of Enya's stuff from the 80's and early 90's - most of the "Celts" album sees a lot of Juno.

The Cure are alleged to have used it, but I can't fathom as to where on regular albums.

Okay,I was listening to Head on the Door tonight and it sounds like it's all over there. Either that or some other kind of Roland, the sounds are very bell-like.Postblank wrote:The Cure are alleged to have used it, but I can't fathom as to where on regular albums.

( bring home the girl , dim the lights put some candles on and Enya's Carribean Blue in the backround, gotten laid many times with that album)VCO wrote:Enya - Carribean Blue (that plucky sound). It's been used on almost all mine.... but only about 6 people have heard them them, that's all
Cabaret Voltaire (Richard Kirk, really) uses a 60 a lot. You can easily replicate many of the sounds from albums like The Conversation. I had a video of some gig they did where Kirk was sequencing the 60 over DCB. Not sure what from though.

As for the former, if you refer to AFOS's original version it can't have been a Juno-60 because the song in question was recorded in early 1982, nearly a year before that synth hit the market. Mike Score did indeed use a Juno-60 but not until '83.synthgeek5108 wrote:opening riff on "I Ran (So Far Away)"
bass on "West End Girl" (although that may have been a 106)
Afaik, the synths used on AFOS's debut album were a Korg MS-10, Korg Delta as well as the then-new Roland Jupiter-8 (which was hired in for the album sessions).
Furthermore, I think the bass on PSB's "West End Girls" is a Minimoog although I do know that they also used a Juno-106 around that time.

I seem to remember Nik Kershaw using it live for "Wouldn't it be good". He was giving the modulation button a good going!

I love the LFO trig button on the 60! When I sold mine and started playing my JD-800 again I was trying to introduce modulation by pressing the buttons on the left side of the keyboardoberheim wrote:I seem to remember Nik Kershaw using it live for "Wouldn't it be good". Seriously, Roland has made some really good keyboards over the years, no doubt about it.
