Also, USB is here to stay for a big while. Look at the back of your PC, many of the connections (Parallel, Serial, etc) have been present for more than 20 years.DocT wrote:Neither the ASBs nor the Klangboxes depend on USB connections. Their USB plug is just an additional option for those who don't have free midi ports in their studio. The editor software can communicate with the boxes via USB or any available midi port.hearttimes wrote:my only fear is that in the future, when usb is a forgotten protocol, this company might be out of business.
What's the deal with these Creamware synths?

And for the record, the editor software doesn't do anything the synth itself can't do. So you don't need it for anything. It's just a supplement and easy way to manage your sound library. Plus the effects section all have separate knobs in the editor, which is nice. But not needed to work the synth.

On the Pro 12 it is the only way to control the effect section, no?Bitexion wrote:And for the record, the editor software doesn't do anything the synth itself can't do. this thread refuses to die! Im gonna go for the Minimax I think to complement my new Pulse and Pro One. I had a lot of fun with it when I tried it.....Once I get my Virus sold and get the money. I rekon Ill be in monosynth heaven then....
(even if it is part poly part digital.....) The logetivity of this thread is testament to the support for these Creamware devices. Even tho hardly anyone in London stocks them (only one I found so far).

This demo used Minimax (in Scope hardware) for the bass, with loopback into the virtual external input for overdrive. Also Super Jupiter (Unison synth at end) and Andromeda (most other synth parts). It was my attempt at the NIN sound.

If I did want a Minimoog Model D, that'd be the instance in which I'd get a MiniMax.

Prodyssey w/ Rhodes Chroma and a little Minimax bass thrown in. The Prodyssey can definitely make some crazy-a*s space sounds.

Someone may have put this clip up here, already. It includes the kinds of effects I'd like to make with an ARP synth at some point in life. Can they be re-created with a CreamWare Prodyssey?
It's a fun clip to listen to, anyway.

No idea, that is a pretty complicated patch. Sounds like R2-D2 having sex or something.
He's constantly replugging patch chords and tweaking stuff. You could say the Odyssey is a 2600 w/o patch points, but you can't say the 2600 is an odyssey with the patch points, kind of
It can go waaaaay beyond.
I've seen a live recording of Edgar Winter tweaking the s**t out of his 2600 on-stage, creating effects on the fly.

any further news about this? for people who already own the controller, $369 list price for a hardware with such features is really some kind of a deal breaker.Analog Kid wrote:the ASX board for CME controllers is perhaps the most interesting Creamware product of the moment. It's kind of like a mini Noah, featuring Minimax, B4000, Lightwave and Vocodizer

Im just testing out a Minimax.....I like the sounds it produces-lots of fun.....
However Recently I bought my first bunch or real analogue.....
I cant seem to shake the thought that Im working with DSP rather than analogue.....Im not sure if its just my psychology (ie I KNOW its DSP so Im not convinced by it) or it really is my ears......
I mean-it makes cool noises but there is a subtle difference in the way I feel about it compared to the analogue gear I have-it feels more like a toy.....?
Anyone else find that?
Oh yeah and if you are a Logic user please check my MIDI problem in the help section-Im pulling my hair out!
