theres exact same sound for DX/TX802 series.. i think it was called "eerie" or something. and many similar ones. just a thought..

im glad they started shipping and it turned out it aint vaporware, but i aint that excited about it. great product, great value but nothing really new. if it had more knobs id think of replacing XT with it,as i dont use XT as much as microwave nowadays, and fancy mQ/Q filters.

hope this is a sign Stromberg will eventually become real too.

I've been drooling over the specs on that synth, it seems set to be everything I love about Waldorf and more! I am a bit frightened by it's potential price point though, so it seems like a smart move by Waldorf to make the analog filter and tube modules as options you can add to the synth later. Also, judging from the "vaporware" pics, I would assume that their installation will be as easy as putting a new cartrige in an Atari 2600! :)

So, is there some sort of bit decimation hidden in there you reckon?
I suppose you could achieve something similar with the ring mod or S&H perhaps?

Even with all of that...someone will complain I'm sure...

I weren't complainin'
I was only wondering if someone saw in that list of effects and drives whether some bit crunchiness looked evident. Looks like something similar should be do-able anyhoo.

I suspect that feature list is bogus, for two reasions:

1. Weren't the knobs to be machined aluminum, not stainless steel?? I'm pretty sure I heard the designer state this in a video (possibly on sonicstate, from NAMM 07)

2. 25 Voices ... Since when?? Still says 50 on waldorfmusic.de though....

Update:
From waldorfmusic.de:
"Simply twisting Blofeld's solid aluminum knobs.... "
"up to 50 voices" ...

Bogus?

Why would anyone take the time to make a bogus feature list?

I think they are legit. After all this is on Waldorf's Blofeld page: "General Features (subject to change)". I think it's really just a case of Waldorf's Webmaster being lazy ;D

Did anyone catch the part where it says UP TO 25 VOICES?
I take that to mean to get 25 voices you will have to pay more to expand it. :(
