Poly: Nord Modular
Mono: Evolver
Drum Machine: MDUW
Sequencer: Sequentix
Wildcard: Ebbe und Flut

Although really, I'd take another synth or effect processor over the sequencer, since I can use my computer and the UW.

Off the top possible obtainable combinations that I could use for musical win.

On hand:
MnM
MS20
MD-UW
[comp?]
Suzuki Melodian

Old school:
Jupiter-8
Arp 2600
Tr-909
[comp?] *whistle sound* substitution? MS20
Synthi AKS

Modern:
Nord Lead 2x
MnM
MD-UW
Comp+Monome
V-synth

Mixed:
Jupiter 8
Arp 2600
MD-UW
Comp+Monome
MnM or MS20

11 choices sounds better. If you family doesn't accept synths then they aren't your real family. Yell at them and ask what have they done with your real family.

You can do like 6 synths, a few modules and some drum machines. You know that closet...come on you know which closet. The one with linens and sheets. Problem solved. Wow that sounds like hiding contraband.

What I have...

Poly: Alesis Ion (very soon to be Waldorf Q+ PE)
Mono: none
DM: Roland R8
Sequencer: FL Studio 7 XXL
WC: Roland SP-404

What I want and/or will someday have...

Poly: Waldorf Stromberg
Mono: Future Retro Revolution
DM: Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1UW
Sequencer: Well I could use the Revolution as one or... Mobius
WC: Alesis Andromeda
Don't be afraid, ever... cause this is just a ride.

1 Poly
I suppose the ultimate for me would be the PEK. But the Nord Wave and Stromberg look interesting. The Q+ could be a contender too.

2 Mono
I guess I would pick a Voyager, but only cause you said modulars are not allowed and I would need something to replace it. There are a plethora of fine mono synths out there.

3 Drum machine
Probably the ESX.

4 Sequencer
I have not yet found a sequencer I really like.

5 Wild card ( your own choice.)
V Synth, it is something different.

1. Virus TI (poly, mono, drum machine, sequencer)
2. Gibson Firebird (Wild card)

That'd be all I'd need.

so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

because I like collecting.

The question was if I was forced to have only 5. I have more than 5.

I guess a real list would be:

Poly: Virus TI
Mono: Minimoog
Drum Machine: MPC1000
Sequencer: Logic 8
Wild Card: gibson firebird
