I'm very happy with my core setup and don't think, that it will change in near future:

Waldorf Q
Roland V-Synth
Roland Juno-106
Waldorf Q / Waldorf Microwave / Waldorf Pulse / Roland V-Synth / Roland Juno-106 / Roland System 100M / Jomox AirBase 99 / Native Instruments Komplete

the past year have been taking just the JP8, Voyager and Radias on the road, the JP8 was sold last week. I am eagerly awaiting a chance to demo the Solaris and Origin, if these don't pan out will likely go back to the A6.
Prophet 08, Mini D, Radias, 2 x JD-990, Juno-60, 2 x JP-8080, Fantom X6, Speakeasy Stereo Rackmount Vintage Tube Preamp ...

Before, I said I'd pick the Minimoog Voyager and the Fairlight CI (either the IIx or the III). If I had to pick another one I'd like, I'd have to flip a coin between the Prophet T8 (if only) and (maybe) an Alesis Andromeda.

If I were to include mechanical keyboards, I'd shoot for a Rhodes Stage 88 and a Hammond XK3. And, I'd probably plug the Prophet into a Kaoss pad.

For now, I'm perfectly content with my current set-up.

The greatest thing we ever have is the will to survive.

of the synths/keys i currently use/know best:

Jupiter 8
microwave w novation ReMote controller (sysex)

and Rhodes Stage 73 mk1, 1973 - if that doesnt count as synth.

id go anywhere with this setup.

no-stops-pulled, i'd probably choose:

moog modular
- a sml one like moog 15, w 4oct controller,
- modded to have some normalled connections.
Yamaha CS-80
Waldorf Wave

and, again i couldn't do without: Rhodes Suitcase 73, 1973ish. a nicely miked steinway b on the side couldnt hurt either. ;)

jupiter · oberheim · prophet · sh · moog · andromeda · ppg wave · vs · waldorf · yamaha · eii · casio
rhodes · solina · acetone · eurorack · system100 · förster · lexicon · eventide · space echo · svc350 etc

oh well, here's each, starting with my current stable:

Alesis Ion
Korg microKORG
Korg EMX-1

and in my wildest fantasies:

Moog LP (even though the name makes me cringe  )
Elektron Monomachine
RT Spectralis

I need a rompler/sampler: Yamaha Motif XS7
I need a polyanalogue: Jomox Sunsyn
I need a monosynth: Moog Minimoog Voyager (Solar/White Ash)

My current setup isn't that far from this "three synth ideal", but I'm really lusting after the Motif XS. The improved FX and filters sound totally kick-a*s.

This type of thread has cropped up before and it's always been painful deciding because it means discipline - arrrrgh!! :D

I guess I'd go with the general theme of some sort of Rompler for bread and butter sounds, an analogue poly and an analogue mono (or another poly with a unison feature.) So from my existing boards, it would be:

Prophet VS (or the ESQ1 but I'd have to get it functioning reliably first)
MicroMoog (or the Juno2)

Dreamlist would be something like:
1 - V-synth
2 - CS80 (or Prophet 5 or Jupiter 8)
3 - MiniMoog

It think it's important to bear in mind that it does depend largely on the type of gig. At the moment I'm using (for a Beatles cover band), only the Triton and a separate controller for the VK 8M. Whereas in my other Prog based band, I'd use ASR10, ProphetVS, Triton, VK8M, MicroMoog (or ESQ1 or Juno2 ... whichever was functioning best :) ). Sometimes, I'd even drag along the VCS 3 just for the sake of some serious twiddling.
It doesn't matter if you don't like my personality, I have several more.
