Well I think...

Fusion 8
Electribe ESX
and any one of these... Virus TI, Q+, Andromeda

would cover all the bases.
Don't be afraid, ever... cause this is just a ride.

I finally own my perfect 3!!!!

Waldorf Q rack
DSI evolver
Roland VK-8m

(and i control everything with an roland AX-7)

(anyway if i had to live without the ax-7, a Q+ or Q keyboard should be a good choice as controller)

But you must choose! Choose wisely!

.Com Modular(any modular though, they all sound different, but good in their own way)

Moog LP

Dave Smith Evolver(take your pick on which model)

and since fx don't really count as a synth, the complete MoogerFooger line to go with your CV jacks off of your synths

Yamaha CLP-3,5,or7.....FM EP Big fan of the EP sound as well as the two "guitar" presets, that sound nothing like guitars, but are really musical.

UltraProteus rack and controller....Pads and piano

Korg Delta...strings and simple synth. separate outs for different effects pedals....awesome!
Korg Triton (2001), Ensoniq esq-1, Casiotone 401, Suzuki Omnichord version 200 (electric autoharp). E-MU Ultra Proteus, Ensoniq QS-R. Yamaha RX-8. Yamaha QX-21,Yamaha AN1x
