TR-909 kick drum replacements
So, I just parted ways with my TR-909. I just wasn't getting enough use out of it to warrant hoarding it. Someone else will definately get more use out of it than I.
Having said that, I NEED to replace the kick. That was all I ever used it for. Does anyone reccomend (hardware or software) something that will help soothe my analog drum wounds. virtual, sampled or whatever else. I'm open to it all.

I have found that when it comes to gear, believe the hype.

I have never owned or used one...but people who I trust have used it and liked it. They do show up on ebay once in awhile, but they are also sold at analog haven and nova musik and places like that.vanitypolice wrote:looks pretty awesome and exactly what I'm pining for. i checked it out at the jomox site.
Do you guys have one? Do I buy it direct from them or do they crop up on ebay every so often?

Yeah. at Nova Musik, the MBase01 is $299. That looks like a good price to me.
Oh, and I've owned the Quasimidi 309. While it's nice, the jomox is definately a more streamlined unit. I don't need a fullblown drum-perc synth/mono-synth/groovebox, just a kick.

If you've been looking for an excuse to get into a mini modular:

I've seen them at Analogue Haven in the US, but I haven't listened to them myself. Seems like a cool box, though. They have other drum modules on their site from the CR78, 808 and 909.
