He also had an orange one later on (with a new apr filter) though I'm not sure when he got that one.

But at the time of recording of Equinoxe, he indeed did have a moog-filter ARP

The picture below from 1976 shows Jarre with an early Gray Face Tonus Logo Arp 2600 (it looks like a rev 2 to me because the casing of the rev 1 was slightly smaller).

Speaking of the so-called "Moog-ladder" filter (4012); 2600's with this filter were actually more common than most people would like to think. In fact, it was used in all 2600's made from early 1971 to late 1976. There were of course other changes made to the Arp 2600 during that period, both internal and external but that's another story.

A very young Jarre in the studio. This shot was probably taken around the time Oxygene was recorded in the fall of '76,

That's the same ARP that shows up in the 1978 picture

Not sure but I think it belonged to Francis Rimbert , and was originally from 1974

I wonder if it even could be the same one as shows up in the pics from the recent Oxygene concert!?
At least, it looks to be the exact same model (except for the duophonic 3620 keyboard) .

Wrong. Francis and Jarre met just before Concorde Concert. FR was working for Korg then :)

btw FR didn't have his own ARP2600 back those years .

I think that JMJ borrowed his first 2600 from Michel Geiss. I know that MG owned one when met JMJ. JMJ was less experienced so MG learned him bout 2600.

I'm pretty much sure according to rumours that Geiss was pretty much responsible for most of the sound and production of Oxygene ? Or he just helped JMJ and recorded it ??

The story I’ve heard was that Geiss once got approached by someone after he gave a lecture about synths or the 2600 (or both) and was told about some chap called Jean Michel Jarre who’d just got a 2600 but was having difficulty with some of its features.

Geiss has stated in an interview not too long back that his involvement in Oxygene was only for two weeks towards the end of the recording sessions and that it was only to help re record certain parts the assumption being that JMJ had almost got most the album finished by this point.

No.

MG and JMJ met a bit earlier, when JMJ had finished Oxygene 1,2,3.

MG helped him with mixing and recording parts 4,5,6

You know your stuff Radek so I don't dispute any of it.

Hey man do you know where that interview with Geiss where he talked about an Aero before JMJ held it back (again)?

I think it was Spanish or Italian fan site but I can't be sure.

I had one of those. Great sound. They keys aren't quite reversed, though, they're grey and white.

Haha I actually just watched it on a Jarre forum  I don't get the idea about it but it looks to be Jarre himself with a freaky mask.
