Bands that use Casiotones live?

Post by Tyler2000 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:28 pm

Not specifically ones that say "casiotone", but just casio and casio type toys. ie - no CZs and stuff.

Ones I can think of:

Datarock
Octopus Project
Circuit Pop (my old band)
Creepy Dudes (my new band)
Yip Yip

More later
so what do I put down here now?

nick cave, performing with the bad seeds, brought a casio front and center to play "brompton oratory" a few years back (thus prompting my friend to yell "PLAY THAT CASIO NICK!!!" at the top of his lungs. which was hilarious, but annoying considering it's one of my favorite cave songs).

i would imagine the vanishing and factory of angst use them

Casionova does, check him out.

We used to use a VL-Tone for a couple of songs a few years ago, now the Casios are reserved for the studio.

yeah casionova is a badass, I can't believe I forgot him. I guess because I've never seen him.

What Casiotone do the Lost Sounds use? I though they only had a couple SCIs and a Poly800.
so what do I put down here now?

Hot chip use a casio MT-70 I think. Not 100% sure whether it makes it to live shows, though.

Fred Frith used an MT30 with Massacre and I believe it was an MT68 with Skeleton Crew in the '80s.
Keys: Realistic Concertmate 500, Korg K25, Korg Micro X

Guits: '86 Fender Japan '50s Reissue Strat, '80 Aria Pro II TS-300 Thor Sound
