CME ASX Synth expansion card

Post by buckyball » Tue Oct 23, 2007 10:47 pm

CME have announced a new expansion option for the UF and VX keyboards. They call it the ASX. It consists of four "plug-ins": The MiniMax polyphonic VA, the LightWave wavetable VA, the B4000 organ modeler, and the Vocodizer vocoder (for which there's a mic input jack).

Official info is here:

Does anyone have the Waldorf synth that was also designed to plug in to these CME keyboards? Does it look like the same product under a different name, or is this an all-new animal?

I believe that both are different products, as one is a Waldorf Nano synth without any audio input. and the other is some kind of a Creamware synth with audio input for the vocoder.

Yup, it's a collaboration between CME and the company that bought Creamware. So there are other plugins coming as well, e.g. Proddyssey and Pro-12!

whoaa, that's crazy! This is truly one of the hottest product..hope that it would sound as great as the dedicated ASB box. Coupled with the Nano Synth, the CME controller could becoming the hippest budget synth around.
