Are you referring to the lead stab being played on the Pro-One? Or the chords on the Juno 60 (or 106, can't really tell)?
The Pro 53 VST emulates a Prophet 5, and that stab is a pretty simple sound, sounds to me like a sawtooth or pulse wave with some filter sweep on it. Any analog/VA should be able to do that sound no problem.
P.S. Now I'm watching more Chromeo videos on Youtube... I think I like them! Finally someone with a catchy beat and they use analog synths too!

Two VCO: thanks to the push rods, one can choose several forms of waves at the same time!

just about any polysynth will make the sounds in the 1st video
for funky sounds, in general, goosing the filter's EG amount on any synth will get you part way there. it helps to have snappy EGs and of course a squirty/juicy filter.
also route the lfo->osc pitch and control it with the modwheel for vibrato and those wobbly bits.

I always thought Zapp must have had lots of Oberheims but they did use rather a lot of Rolands indeed. I know the JX-3P well. Nice sound if you crank up the resonance.OriginalJambo wrote:The JX-3P can bring the funk - especially 80s funk.
By the way regarding the sound of the first clip: use fifths... That definitely will be essential on top of a nice resonance sound. Pro-53 has a few presets with 5th's.
