Yes. That is exactly what you should do. Do it now before you change your mind.

These new demos from Boele sound great, but they still have background whine all over them (as I pointed out about the previous demos in the other thread).

It's really painfully obvious when you check out a spectrogram of the sound.

I really hope this is just an issue with their beta units, because otherwise this looks like an awesome little synth.

no, its just an emulation
No one cares, no one sympathizes,
so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

All beta units have a high pitched noise that isn't present in the serial versions anymore. There has been some kind of hardware modifikation afaik.

Great! Thanks for clearing that up Stefan! I thought it was unlikely that Waldorf would allow something like that into the final product, but its nice to have it confirmed :)

No audio inputs, so not likely.

I'm really impressed with what I've heard- especially the demos stefan has posted on here (nice work dude). I just hope the Australian dollar stays strong against the USD for a while longer (at least till we hit that first price drop a few months down the track).

Aside from all the specs (which are INSANE, imho), I'm psyched about the USB interface. Oh wait... is the USB just for transmitting and receiving midi? not audio? or patch editing?

Even so. cables and midi chains s**t me to tears, so that's one less thing to worry about.

I just ordered my Blofeld..whoo hoo!
The sales guy at Novamusik told me they had 25 preorders already and that it was the first batch.
Checking around at other sites they seem to have quite a few preorders as well.
Sounds like Waldorf has a hit on their hands. I'm glad because they deserve it and I want them to continue being a force in the world of synthesis.

I know. It pisses me off that Waldorf currently do not allow you to send audio over USB (and its a USB2.0 connection, so its not as if it cannot send audio!). If you only have 2 outputs, and 16 timbres, you have a serious bottleneck.

If they allow audio out via USB2.0, and ideally audio input as well, I would buy a Blofeld in a flash (NOTE THIS WALDORF!!! ADD AUDIO I/O VIA USB2 IN THE NEXT UPDATE AND YOU WILL INCREASE YOUR SALES AND MAKE MORE MONEY!!!!!)

Audio I/O via USB is not something you can just add with a software update - a number of hardware changes/additions would need to be made as well. That functionality would increase the price considerably (pc board redesign & remanufacture, board-level hardware changes, recoding the dsp). I for one don't want to pay that much more for a Blofeld ;)

At its current price, preorders for initial shipments are already selling out, Waldorf should have no problem selling a ton of these :D
