It'd be really great if you would also supply a link to the video ;).

Just check out the newest video with Alicia Keys playing on a Jupiter 8. It's nice to see those kind of musicians use that kind of synths, instead of just another Voyager but the sound used in this video does not really appeal to me.

Clavia: /Nord Lead 2x/
Roland: /AX-Synth/D-50/SH-201/
Korg: /EMX-1/Microkorg/Monotron/MS-20 Mini

That song sucks so bad, and that JP8 is used to make the stupid "fwonk" sound from The Packrat. It's like using a bazooka to kill a gnat. Alicia has more talent than this - I wish she'd go back to using it.

Sorry...that song just grates on me.

BTW, nice find on the Refused. It's been years since I've seen that video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWt7JlRCVes more "fwonk" I spotted on the TV the other day. EMS VCS3, Mini and a keyboard I can't recognize.

I'm not crazy about that sound either, but you gotta give Alicia some points for busting out the Jupiter

Oh, the song is terrible, but I agree. It's probably the director that had the Jupiter brought in.

i would put money that it was the art director, not the director. but we all know who's idea it wasn't...

As far as fwonk sound go it's not all that bad, in my opinion. What gets really annoying after a while though are those friggin' cymbal hits. Sounds like my first attempts at beat building...
