If it has an ON/OFF switch, I assume it's supposed to be turned off when not in use. (Almost) Everything I have has the switch so I always turn it off...
...and unplug the cords. My father used to say that it's off only after it's been unplugged. And while I'm a philosopher and he is an egineer, I trust him
