Best is subjective... but you have a good one. Why do you want something else (what are you missing that you need)?
Korg Volcas / 6 x TE POs / MicroBrute / EH Space Drum & Crash Pad

Well, I agree: You should first tell as precisely as possible what you call "a good bass sound", cause just with your MS you may sculpt a really wide range of bass sounds, which won't "tell" the same to a listener.

You're being really vague. Lots of synths can do interesting bass sounds. Most monosynths are considered good bass synths by someone. Popular bass synths are various moogs, SCI Pro-One, Roland SH/TB, Yamaha CS, Arp Oddy, etc. there some interesting modern options from companies like future-retro.

Style is much different than tone.

Also, the question is completly paradoxical. Why would you want to know what we think is the best when you want to create your own style?

If you want to create your own style just get the synth with the most options, and the most freedom to explore to find your sound.

He was joking about buying a Moog modualr. Even if you could afford one you would still have to go through the impossible task of finding one.
