FiZmO Hand Count: If U Have One, Plz Participate

Post by sequence » Tue Dec 11, 2007 6:36 pm

On the Fizmo Forever thread, some of us are wondering how many racks and kb units were built in 1998 (some say less than 500), and how many have survived. I know this isnt very scientific or all-comprehensive, but if U have that beautiful purple and blue (or purple, with the rack) beast--and it still works--plz participate.

Also, if anyone knows anything about how the Ensoniq serial number system works, please enlighten us....

So far, I only know of Carbon111, Tallowwaters, Pighood, Crow?, Mome Rath, WDW (rack), Kalinsfarm, Stikygum, Modulator_esp, Pangmaster (sorry Huppo), and myself. If I am wrong plz correct :D

Thanks, and let's have some fun here. After all, we are nigh on the 10 year mark of Fizzie's impact on the world of synthesis, and I do believe that it is slowly, but surely attaining cult status. 8)

If we're going to do this it may also be useful to post the mfr date and serial, if only to get an idea of the range of numbers. Again, mine's:

poking around the now-dead Yahoo Fizmo user's group I ran into this interesting "historical document" on defects (or none) in production runs, dated, I know, but I still found myself putting my serial # with what's listed:

Dunno PH, we're searching for someone who can decode the Ensoniq serial # system.
