no offense, but where'd you hear that? they already had 808, 909 and linndrum on homework and other than the kick drum, vocoder and lead parts discovery is about 90% samples.

no, i'm not ripping on it, that'd be for another thread anyway. just wondering if you actually read that about the 707 somewhere...

you should check out the korg kpr-77, it's pretty rare, but it's analog..
put those individual outs -> eq's + filters = nicey nicey.
you can get some pretty booming bass drums out of it by opening it up and tuning the BD decay put/slider more

check it out, if you want analog

*edit, ^this was written completely out of memory.. sorry :) no ind. outs apparently, but you can mod it to have ind. outs..*
(+ the BD decay, it's moddable)

Personally love my R-70. The pads are much nicer than the R-8/R-5.

The sounds are maybe 'dated'...(not necesarily bad), but i would suggest getting a dirt cheap sampler Akai s-2000 or even a Roland s-760 to fill any sonic gaps. The R-70 makes a good external sequncer/controller as well.

:D
Bend it to fit, Paint it to match.
