kinda disappointed...

Post by XeemEyexoX » Mon Jan 21, 2008 6:46 pm

with Korg this NAMM... but i guess that last year was fairly big for them with the release of the M3, and R3, etc...

still... releasing cosmetic pieces is a pretty big letdown to me. that camo X50 was humorous and novel at first; it will probably attract some fun jokes on the board... but for me, the novelty has worn off and its just a big disappointment. I love the MK... i just don't care what color the keys are, it was cool when people were pulling off that mod D.I.Y. but now every individual with cash and a jones to play synth are going to snag that reverse key MK and it kinda overshadows the hard D.I.Y. work that pioneered the idea.

but the news of the TI Snow and that moog foot pedal will be pretty sick...
it softens the hurt... but damn those dreams of an updated Electribe unit!!!

how do you feel about the korg NAMM announcements? what NAMM announcements ended up being disappointments for you?

I truly think that the Electribes are over...but,, as long as the Kaossilator keeps doing well / does well... we will see an electribe type device in a bigger kaossilator package. It only makes sense to me.

They probably are developing something really awesome and are just simply waiting for the right time to unleash it upon the market.

That's what I hope anyway.

My guess is they will wait until all the hubub is over and then Whammo!!
It's too easy to get overshadowed at these type of events. They could release something anytime and still get interest form folk like us.

I vote for 'who gives a c**p'

Nobody here needs anything new from Korg to make music, just use what you've got, maybe you'll make something good. There's not enough good music out there.

Yes they do, as I already stated there's not enough good music out there. Get cracking. :)
