Analog Drum Machines?
Im in the market for a nice analog drum machine thats not crazy expensive. Im not to familiar with drum machines except for some of the standards(i.e. linn drum, tr-808-909) What would you guys recommend in the $200-600 price range? Im looking for something with good snare hits, claps, and kick drums, + a decent sequencer.
Thanks
Thanks
this may be worth looking into as well

thanks for the info, i'll check that out. I guess I should've put that I'm looking for a drum machine with good hip hop-ish style drum hits.
And yes I've had my controller one since last august, it's amazing to say the least. I got mine from Ishabashi web shop in Japan for $1300. Where did you order yours from?

i would say the xbase09 is probably up your alley, nothing beats sampling though.

If you are more into old skool and electro sounding hip hop the XBase should work well, it will also work in the booty shaking hip hop thingy thats so popular in the states.D-rex wrote:thanks for the info, i'll check that out. But otherwise you are best of getting a sampler like the MPC-500 or SP-404 for hip hop, or maybe the new Akai XR20 drum machine.

mine as well throw it out there this one too has no sequencer or memory but it has a bunch of knobs!!

I remember him saying "lowest price" haha go figure. The xbase looks really nice, couldn't find one for sale though. I did find a 606 on ebay for $260. I'll keep looking.xibalba wrote:1300.00D-rex wrote:thanks for the info, i'll check that out. I guess I should've put that I'm looking for a drum machine with good hip hop-ish style drum hits.

Yea!! This drum module is tits if you are prepared to use if for a sampling source or sequence it from an external machine.xibalba wrote:squaresprocket wrote:The TR 606 works great for me, but the lack of MIDI does kind of limit it in some ways. You can get the MK III new with the chrome knobs for $849 from Novamusik. Much better than the MK II. I owned the MK III for awhile-best Kicks (3 of them!) that I've ever heard. I just couldn't deal with not having the built-in sequencer, so I bought an Xbase 09, which I also love, but the Vermona was my favorite sounding drum synth.D-rex wrote:I found a brand new vermona drm1 mk2 on ebay for 850. Could I use ultrabeat in logic pro 7 to sequence it?
