I haven't forgotten my people...........

I was extremely busy with "real" life this weekend. Didn't really get a chance to record anything. I'll get something up before next Monday.... It probably won't be anything special though as I have a feeling I'm gonna be pretty wrapped up with work an' s**t.

For what it's worth, I don't think the demos on the jomox site do it justice.

I just caught a pretty serious cold I don't know if I'll be able to get to the demos this week - as every sound feels like a jackhammer banging on my skull....

No dude, I promise! Up until last monday, I haven't been to a doctor in SEVEN years! I have been EXTREMELY sick! I will post a couple songs once I get a little free time (read, songs not demos). This will take some time as I have a week's worth of work, and cleaning, to catch up on :(

Hello

Can someone tell me which machine (888 or 999) would be more suitable for dance music productions. Are they supposed to be losely based on the 808 and 909 respectively?

Im looking for a decent, versatile analog drum machine for dance/trance

Thanks

Whats the main difference between the 888 and 999. The 888 has more control over the kick drum and no filter? is that basically it? The 888 is £250 cheaper than the 999.....so was just wondering....

Thanks to anyone who can confirm

The main reason I would take the 888 over the 999 any day is the ANALOG NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!

You can actually get those smooth 808 606 hihat sounds and use it on the snare. There are parameters for tweaking it too, the big thing that turns me on about analog drum machines are the creamy hi hats, especially 606 808 so I felt on the 999 I was really missing the magic of analog hats.

Next you have a different pitch envelope I think on the kick drum and toms, the toms have more flexibility than the 999... the kick is supposed to have a more 808ish sound.

The only thing extra on the 999 is the filter which is deafening loud. Honestly I would take a 888 over the 999 even if they were both priced the same.

I just wish somebody in the space time continuum would post some demos actually showing the different sounds of the 888 rather than a repeating single pattern/kit. I guess I'm just gonna have to get one... saving...
