JP-8080 or Nord Lead Rack 2X?

Post by fabriciom » Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:10 pm

Hello, I'm looking to buy one of this units and I'm not sure which one to choose because I can't try them out. I was leaning towards the JP-8080 because it seemed like it had a nicer smoother sound. While the Nord is more of a rash or harsh sounding synth. But again I'm undecided because the sounds I have herd have all been from the internet. Any help would be appreciated .

-Thanks,
Fabricio

What do you have already?

Any who I went ahead and bought one from ebay in Germany. I'll talk with the guy tomorrow to send payment and to verify things.

the JP would be a nice first synth with it's interface, sound quality and unique sound of it's own.

A question to JP-8080 owners. Do you guys recommend using midi quest XL 10 at all? I read somewhere a person having problems with the software where it messed up the EPROM. But it was a Roland MV8000 I think.

-Thanks
