Well, I found one mod for the TR-808 that won't require drilling any additional holes. This is to add MIDI capabilities. Does anyone have experience with this particular MIDI retrofit?

Does anyone have experience MIDI retrofitting their TR-808 with any of the available kits out there and were you happy with the results?

I had the Kenton MIDI kit installed in my 808 back in the early 90's. I was quite happy with it. You can maps out the drum sounds on different MIDI note numbers and respond to velocity.
