Future Retro dropping the Mobius
Buy one now if you want one...it's being discontinued so they can crank out more XSes and R2s.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

i've read from others on here that the Revo also lacks some deeper CV/Oct/Hz control that the Mobius can do... maybe the 777 is similar in that department?c1t1zen wrote:Tell me guys what's the difference if any from the sequencer in the Mobius and FR-777. I know the revolution has remix features. Is there more outs or what?

The Mobius has can send V/octave as well as Hertz/V, trigger, + or - gate, clock, clock reset and DIN sync. Other than these features they are the same.c1t1zen wrote:Tell me guys what's the difference if any from the sequencer in the Mobius and FR-777. I know the revolution has remix features. Well i just ordered one. Seriously folks no other manufacturer is making a reasonably priced sequencer. That probably means these will go up in price somwhere closer to the second hand price of the competition.
Anyway lets hope that this is not permamnent and that they bring it back into production later on. This is a good possibility as they are stopping production due to high demand for other products rather than a lack of appropriate parts right?
P.S. please don't buy five of these as a means of speculating on the prices. I would hate to think that these items were just sitting in your closet wasting away.

I knew about the Mobius ceasing production, so i'm glad my second one is ordered, and yes it's a good sequencer, however like most manufacturers who make digital sequencers, and also the sequencer on the monomachine is that they fail to implement a note-skip feature, as it's either note-on or note-off.
But anyway it's a shame Jered at FR is calling it a day for the Mobius, as it's been popular and has done so well.

could you explain the difference between skip and on-off?
I was thinking in the way, say a Moog 960 Sequencer works.
Most sequencers allow you to mute notes (off), ie: if you don't want a note sounding on say the mobius you have to press CLEAR and the note on the 16-STEP's you don't want to sound. SKIP excludes that STEP you don't want to sound in the sequence, and jumps directly to the next note from the previous one. When you have a note muted (off) in a sequence (depending on tempo) there is a brief audible pause, but with SKIP you don't hear it.
With most digital sequencers, it's either note-on or note-off (mute) in a sequence.

Thanks for the info guys.
Yes the price is a huge difference and you can't buy the FR-777 new anymore either.
The HZ/Volt output is pretty useful for me but I'll stick with my FR-777 and a Kenton Pro2000 (which I need to learn more about).
Future Retros sequencers are really good for 303 emulated patterns but I have found it to work well for other styles like Berlin or Electro.
