Ahh 1983., some of my absolute favorite synths came out in my birth year.
The Jupiter 6, The Yamaha DX-7, The Roland SH-101 and MC-202, the JX-3p, the TB-303 was in its second year of production, Oberheim launched the infamous OB-8...
what a wonderful year to be born
So fellow explorers what synths came out in your birth year? [btw today is my birthday hence my thoughts about this]

Happy Birthday, BG!
I was born in '71, so according to the VSE timeline, the ARP 2600 Grey Meanie (Phil @ CMS is working on mine) and the EMS Synthi A & AKS were also born.

Actually, that's a rather horrible year.
Seeing that as a baby you have not much in the way of muscles, ,transport, money, teeth or verbal abilities, you couldn't even play them

Born in 1955 - and old enough to remember Kent State, Hendrix's death etc, but c**p if you were a teenager learning piano. That was it really. And not being able to carry a piano arround I gave up playing music for years and never knew stuff all about synths till two years ago!

1990: when ROMplers, vector synthesizers and other digital synths had taken the world by storm.

1966 here.......the "golden age" of the cheesy transistorized combo organs -- Vox Continental, Farfisa Compact Combo, etc.!
