4.Do you think that in future synths will be so advanced and patterned after humans that they will have intestine inside instead of boards ? If not, what will they have ?
This is a good question. We could go into two directions observing current trends in technological progress.
There could be increasing miniaturization, unification and simplification of interface and functionality of synthesizer with simultaneous decreased in size and enormous increase in synthesizer possibilities. At some stage in would enter nanoscale and become a part of the body. It could be implemented subdermaly or in the larger scale - as a biocybernetic augmentations. We would potentially create number of new science areas like synthgenetics, biocybersynthesis, and even trans-biocybersynthesis (with the use of genes from other species to grow synthesizers on our bodies, that would not be only based on our nucleic acid). Interface would become integral with neuronal network. Programming would be purely based on complicating the entire sensation from environment and transferring it through numerous neuronal filters. Therefore, every action in reality would create a new composition, recorded on infinite gigabytes of memory integrated with nanoneurosynthesizer. Nano-neurosynthesizer would also use a brain as an alternative backup memory.
There could be growth in the size and the scale of future synthesizer. This is less possible option, but not completely impossible. The idea would be to use a synthesis potential in the large scale objects. The ultimate point would be to make a synthesizer from a planet. By using a physical properties of the planet, it would be used as an oscillator. There would be a number of detectors installed on the planet and on the near orbit of the planet, to process a signal. Those systems would be tuned to the signal and would transform it into sound, that would be processed and unified on the based of chaos algorithms. The system would be a planetary virtual modeling synth.
