roland ep 11 - 20 bucks (neat autochord home keyboard. sounds really nice for that sort of keyboard.)
casiotone 601 - 10 bucks (the weird "gold" one)
korg dw 8000 - 150 bucks (i guess this deal isn't that incredible but still a pretty good price! no problems except note names on keys. bought in a church for bikers/flea market. the kids that lived there seemed upset, maybe it was theirs :( )
kurzweil k 2000vp - 175 bucks (also not that incredible but a good price. had all of the available upgrades for a k2000)
farfisa minicompact - 50 dollars (i found it in my teens and my mom bought it for my 17th birthday. worked well for about 3 months, i played the s**t out of it!)
multivox mx 65 - 100 bucks (great string synthesizer! i wish it wouldn't have pooped out. very simple, kind of janky but i've never had another synth that could make tones that this one can)
Boss Dr Groove 202 - 50 bucks (i really like this drum machine. very easy to create any sound you want with the cutoff, resonance, and decay)
Thomas Transistor Organ - 5 bucks (makes cool swamp sounds! quite janky)
Yamaha cp 35 - 50 dollars (the best electronic piano i've ever used! seperate switch for tremolo, ability to tune both sounds, great wurlitzer emulation! too heavy though)

I've never payed over 200 dollars for an instrument so i suppose everything i have bought has been either a good find or partially working. it's very easy to find cheap keyboards and synths in springfield missouri :D

Korg DW-8000 - $50

The main output was broken and just produced noisey distorted junk, but I was able to open it up and bypass part of the output and get a clean audio signal so it was cool! I installed a new jack and it worked well enough. Unfortunately, the power supply died and I couldn't get good help from Korg to replace it. Also, the one place I could find that supplied power supplies couldn't guarantee selling me the correct one and they were extremely expensive. So when the DW died, I actuall threw it away. This was many years ago however. If it had happened recently, I would've sold it online for parts.

The upside is that I made some nice customizations to the DW-8000 (transposed it down an octave electronically) and recorded some good tunes on it.

I just managed to buy a mint condition Casio HT 700 (stop sniggering at the back!) for £6.49 on Ebay. :D

Hardly had a chance to use it yet, but managed to sneak in a few bursts of white noise with it on this piece I recorded yesterday:

Hope to get programming some interesting sounds soon!

From the same lovely elderly couple i got a Motif 7 for £250, which is a steal.

The best purchases are the unexpected ones :)

I traded a technics 1210 that I paid about £100 for in return for a CS-5 and MS-10 both in fantastic condition

Other than that, amazing deals really don't seem to happen any more, especially in the UK :/

Couldn't agree more. I never come across deals of any kind in the uk. I paid £80 for a dw8000 around 2 years ago and that's the best deal I ever got. Unfortunately I hated it and sold it a few weeks later.

Yamaha SY 22 - 30€
Yamaha Dx21 - 10€
Yamaha DX7 2FD - 50€
Roland Jx 305 - pretty nasty condition - 30€ got it fixed for another 20€
Korg Ms20 - traded for Poly800 and 50€ cash.
Polysix - not working -50€ (soldered the keys cable as it was loose and worked like a charm after)
Juno 106 - 150€

On the other hand i sold a Roland Jx8p (to an asshole guy with s**t loads of money) for 2200€ 12 years ago he thought it was the Super Jupiter!

Quote : to an asshole guy with s**t loads of money , i'm talking here about someone that can make 20000-30000€ per night and would give you 50€ for playing a concert for him when you agreed to 250... you can try me on any ethical aspect here you won't convince me i did wrong... you would do the same here after having to deal with someone like this for years...

This was just a clever way to get my money back...
