I did see that yesterday. I unfortunately burnt all of my money on a VC-10 and a Dimension D last week so was in no position to reply to the add :D

Yeah I saw that. Add's still up for what it's worth. Near me and I from what I can tell a good price but a sigma? Nah.

More interesting is the supposedly fully working SK-20 going for £300 in Nottingham. Would be quite tempted if it were closer to home.

My two Casio CK-500's for $4.00 and $15.00 were a good find.

I also got a TR-505 for $5.00.

Got my Yamaha V50 for $100 from a guy whose girlfriend had used it as a glorified electric piano. Even considering that the battery and drive belt needed replacing, not a bad deal.

Though in terms of good deals rather than strict dollar amount, getting my Matrix-6 for $300 wasn't too bad either.

korg M1 + case + synth1 cards = £60 (hated it - parted it out for way more)
Juno 6 also £60 - back in 1993 before they got cool again.

they are the cheapest technically but by no means the BEST value I've bought.

oh just remembered I bagged a spare SY77 for £20 but needed some work

I'm a lot less talented than a lot of you when it comes down to find good deals. Cheapest synth I ever bought ? It's a tie between my Korg Monotron, the Monotron Duo or maybe the Mixtape Alpha I have on order.

Casio CZ5000 for £30. Just one key dead, and the outputs distort which is good for bass/weirdness.

Very good! I was just going to boast that I bought a fully working MiniMoog for $195. That was in about 1993 or so, so take that price into consideration.

Cheapest synth, and also the lowest price I've paid, was a synth I bought for my 5 year old daughter to play with - $30 for a VL-1 in pretty good condition a couple of years ago. She enjoys playing the demo and I can play "Get Carter" and "Da Da Da" to my heart's content!

Since my first post in this thread 3 years (and 6 pages) ago, I got even more stuff locally (mostly Roland):

RS-09 for $100, from the original owner and a copy of the 30 year old purchasing bill!
MKS-50 for $125 (the original 2 prongs power cord was missing, so another one was unelegantly fixed permanently inside through a dent in the metal casing)
JP-8080 for $360 (not the cheapest, but a very good bargain!)
M-VS1 for $30.
MKS-70 + M64-C cartridge for $200 [last week!]
And a few A-880 midi patchbay from $30 to $50 each.

I also got a Yamaha CS1X and a Emu Vintage Keys for $100 each. Didn't like them, so I quickly sold them back. I usually keep things around just in case, but both didn't feel right to me for whatever reason. Could have made 100% profit on the Vintage Keys if I had know how hard they are to find out!

I thought I could score a TR-909 on the very cheap at a studio sale recently, because everything was priced on the low down and I found the original owner's manual in the bin with all the other papers. But no sign of the unit itself, to my despair! The lady in charge told me there was a theft in the studio a couple years ago, so I presume it disappeared then... I have the serial number in case it pops out somewhere. [-X
Considering parting away from:
-Roland TR707
-DSI Mopho

You overpaid by about $4.00. Just kidding; that's a good find.
