DSI Evolver desktop
Has anyone thought about, or has done any type of customization to the unit? I was thinking about building some cool little wood ends or a box for it to sit in. Has anyone done anything aesthetically to their DSI Evo? or at least thought about it?
if so, post some pics...

Yeah... I've made a little structure like that... Sorta modular... It can sit different things above a drum machine or keyboard at 2 different angles (flat or 45'), like my virus desktop for instance or the evolver (with a kaospad beside it, due to its 19" long design)crystalmsc wrote:sometime, I'm thinking about something like this:

Soon Im going to build a carrying box for my virus ti to sit with/above my axiom controller like the above pic... when im done it should have a minimoog sort of look to it... I'll post pics when it actually happens.
As far as an aesthetic add-on for the evolver... no, just the angled holder
I'll post a pic later today...
On second thought... its pretty ugly. I'll wait until I have something nice and finished.

A Price Increase

FYI, hot off the DSI blog . . .
A Price Increase
We have had to raise the price of the Evolver Desktop $50. There had been no price increases since the Evolver was released in 2002, even though costs have increased tremendously in that time. We still think it's a bargain at a US MSRP of $649.

Swear like a man! Go on, say it. f**k!JSRockit wrote:PHUCK... Are they going to be $600 in stores now?

Anyway, when I bought my desktop Evolver the dollar was such that it cost me the equivalent of $950. Which is around about what my MEK cost me a couple of years later.
As the US dollar goes down the toilet everything made outside the US is going to seem a lot more expensive for you guys, so $600 for a desktop evo is gonna actually end up looking like a better deal than it did for $550 a couple of years ago.
