Wall-E sounds and vox

Post by XeemEyexoX » Mon Jul 07, 2008 9:29 pm

those of you who've seen it, any guesses as to what all was used. I believe it was Skywalker Sound who did the post-production soundwork. The sound design was phenomenal!

any guesses? i am willing to venture a guess that a lot of the bleeps and boops were software based. I want to say that the ship ambassador vox were from a Nord, it just sounds so similar.

just curious to hear what you guys think of the sound work...

cheers

Ben - awesome. This movie has the best sound design of any I've seen in years. The ship's autopilot "AUTO" is created using MacinTalk voice synthesis software. The other "voices" were created using effects like vocoding, ring modulation, formant shifters, etc. just like the old days (THX1138, Star Wars, etc.) Ben is a master and we should all be humbled by his diligence and expertise. One of the true pioneers and still doing his best work.
