All the versions of the Korg MS2000....
Looking around, I see there are a few different versions of the MS2000...
MS2000
MS2000R
MS2000B
MS2000RB
Are the 'Bs" just the newer ones with the vocoder mic? I see the 'RB', which is the new rack version, but it doesn't have a mic input.
Are they all relatively the same?

They all have mic inputs.
The rack versions are the same as the keyboard versions, except for the keyboard and wheels. The circuit boards are the same.

First there was the MS 2000 (keyboard) and the rack version without keys and wheels, MS2000R.
A couple years down the road, Korg decided they'd wanna release the new and improved Ms2k. When i saw the announcement, i jump for joy, in hope that they increased polyphony.. but, no. The MS2000B and BR are simply remakes with a black front and some different patches... LAME. Still a great synth though. Everytime i play one it kills me that I still haven't picked one up.

I could be wrong, but didn't the B's fix a couple of bugs in the original synths? Was there some issue with syncing or timing?

MIDI clock timing for the arpeggiator was tightened if I remember rightly.stephen wrote:I could be wrong, but didn't the B's fix a couple of bugs in the original synths? Was there some issue with syncing or timing?

I think the R stands for Rack.
The B stands for Black.
Or else it's that blue-ish color.
I used to have a BR but it doesn't come anywhere near an MS-20.

I believe the first versions are made in Japan and the later versions are made in China.
