So, what is the "PUSH IT!" button for?

To trigger a note. According to manual this can be set to whatever you want: C, D, E, etc... Supposedly it's for hearing your sounds while programming on the go or when you don't feel like pulling out a MIDI controller.

The MoPho will be my next synth purchase. (I was put off by the Blofeld price going up.)

Ordering mine on thursday, can't wait. It could look a bit cooler, but i'm not complaining. How can you? It would have taken me till sometime next year to allocate some funds for a little phatty(especially since I just totaled my car), but I can get this thing with a little more than a weeks pay. Sure I could have gotten something vintage for around this price, but I'm always hesitant about buying music equipment used. This thing solves so many problems for me. Anyone recommend a good midi controller to go along with it?

yeah, but if you've kept track the used prices have been coming down. MoPho looks pretty nice, though I'd prefer an Evolver myself, and I've already gone through two of those.

Very retro!
I have one too. Everything but the drums is the DSI Mopho.
No mixing or effects or editing of any kind.
And it's pretty much all presets straight from the program menu...

The demos sound good guys!

The MoPho has grown on me after my going through the presets a second and third time. The alpha-numeric display is a welcome upgrade from the Evolver and the basses with the sub-oscillators sound pretty solid to me. I agree with what others have said about the amount of knob twisting needed for manual filter sweeps. IMO it works a lot better to assign filter cut-off to the mod wheel of your controller keyboard.

I've been surprised with how easy it is to program it with just the hardware. The menu is laid out logically enough that you can fly right through it to the parameter you need. That said I don't think the CC implementation is robust enough to really be a performance synth. I had the same problem with the evolver. While I absolutely hated the Waldorf Pulse's sound, it's midi implementation was right on.

My main gripes with the Mopho are that the LFOs just arn't slow enough, the lack of oscs as a modulation source, and lack of a real sample and hold. But ultimately these are all pretty minor, given that the sound on the Mopho is wonderful.
