How could this be better than using Live? It seems like it would be a step backwards.. (unless you were performing live maybe).
Do you even post on vse bro?

A little bit, but I'd have to buy a synth to go along with it (though I could use it with my MC-202 when I'm feeling too lazy to program its internal sequencer)... maybe in the future but not now. I think it is nice though.

I'm sure much if not more could be done in Live but I'm speaking of that instant gratification factor with the Orb.

I've known the basics of this project for some time, but I, for one, will not be purchasing one. I thought it was going to be a step up from the revo sequencer, but it's not (and I already have a revo). I was expecting more CV outs and at the least, more variable accent outputs (since the XS is capable of this and all). Unfortunately this product missed the mark.

Maybe they will make an Orb Super Deluxe soon... ;) since it seems they are going to make a few other devices for use with the XS.

next up, i predict some kind of crazy CV-processor like Moog's CP-251....would be perfect for XS

the Orb is rather underwhelming, but w/ a track record like FR's he pretty much has to hit it out of the park to add anything to the resume of brilliance.
I hoped for at least 3 tracks w/ independent CV-outs to send to filter, VCA etc...as it stands the only thing this adds to the Revo sequencer is accent CV out.
So I bought a mint Revo v2 for under 650 last week... :D

The Beat Boxer demo was pretty cool in the beginning as well as the James Brown one.
