Re: New LinnDrum II Design
interesting. the third design looks larger than the previous ones. i can only wonder what the MSRP will be. the design is still evolving, so i'm sure it's too early to tell.

Sounds great! I hope they don't keep adding stuff to it where it will never get released!Dave & Roger wrote:Its new subtitle is "Beat-Centric Digital Audio Workstation with Integrated Analog Synthesis"
Go Roger & Dave!

Exactly... but if they do it right, I guess it'll help the longevity of the machine.Z wrote:I hope they don't keep adding stuff to it where it will never get released!

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
Hmmm, it's looking less and less like something I want. I hope they don't end up trying to make it into a machine that tries to do everything, I kind of prefer something a bit more specialised.
That third pic looks like it's more of an MPC4000/MV-8800 kind of machine, I was hoping for something more like an MPC2500 crossed with an X-Base 999. Oh well, I guess we'll see what it is when it finally comes out.

Sure does... I'm thinking the same way. I was hoping for something that offers something different than MPCs and Jomoxes already offer...Stab Frenzy wrote: That third pic looks like it's more of an MPC4000/MV-8800 kind of machine, I was hoping for something more like an MPC2500 crossed with an X-Base 999. That said, I'd be ok with it being something I don't want...

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
Aw, I was real excited about the last design. The latest design render looks way less interesting.
I'm not sure I like the idea of a "Beat Centric Digital Audio Workstation," either. Here's hoping it doesn't try to be a full-on DAW. I'm cool with it being an all-in-one compositional beat-box. But as soon as they start putting some mic pres on it, my interest will drop substantially.
I have a DAW, thank you. I don't have an analog synth/sampler beat-box.
Still, it'll be interesting to see where they go with it.

And what sort of drum machine needs a port for connecting a monitor/display?
Re: New LinnDrum II Design
Definitely still interested in the product although I am a little surprised by the DAW line.
Maybe it would have been better had they stuck with it being "just" a drum machine. I already have one MPC 4000.
Anyway, we shall see what develops. I am thinking this could be one pricy bit of kit!

Ah yes, in the truest sense of the term DAW...esqoner wrote:""Beat-Centric Digital Audio Workstation with "JSRockit wrote:Where did they say something about it being a DAW?HQ. 17 wrote:Definitely still interested in the product although I am a little surprised by the DAW line.

The price has to be in the $2000+ range at this point. Also, no talk of the one without analog.
