I was 20 years old, and a junior in college when i first got into this whole racket. I had decided, through my growing love of elecontric music, that i wanted to get into it. I borrowed a room mates crappy yamaha psr something and started to play. Then, for Christmas, I got a an alesis micron. The rest is history. 8) :D

No one cares, no one sympathizes,
so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

i was 19 and a college freshman, just figuring out what i wanted to do. after hearing a lot of depeche mode songs and really liking the keyboard parts, i decided to buy a synth (an alesis micron) and learn how to play simple parts from songs I liked. best decision ive ever made.

I dont recall but I remember getting a Casio SK-1 for my birthday.....I was 17 when I got into analog, a friend of mine found an analog delay in a pawnshop. We sat for hours with that thing, shortly after I started looking for anything analog.

Yeah, delays are awesome. When I got my first one I would set the time to be really long and then mess with the settings as the sound slowly faded away. Hours of fun.
Well fffff.

Age 13, circa 1985. A friend loaned me a taped copy of Depeche Mode's Some Great Reward. I was hooked, and I just had to find out how those sounds were made.

Bought my first synth (SH-101) aged 19.
First got into synthesis aged 42.

Finding an SH-101 in my parents house after 17 years or so - Priceless.

so.. you were 16 in 1984, and 22 today? something does not compute here ;)

I was around 17 I think. bought a Microkorg for the equivalent of 1000$ plus another $100 for the gig bag. It was very cool and I quickly learned how to make long, spacey pitch sweeps drowned in maximum delay

age 14, a mate's big brother loaned me a copy of Tangerine Dream's Rubycon on vinyl, from then on i was hooked, first synth was a Yamaha CS-01, followed later by a Juno-6 that belonged to the school, as they had just purchased a DX-7, so i got to buy it from them very cheap :D
