i'm similarly ditching my Emulator II, it's just too inefficient for the way i want to work. i only wish Kontakt was an actual sampler rather than a sample player...wiss wrote:its going on ebay in a few days. I just enjoy my mpc 2500 much much more.

Re: you're killing me! (inexpensive sold craigslist gear)
It's been my experience that Craiglisters want to sell locally. It's just so much easier. And most of the people selling things on there are not online commerce or even synth experts. That's why they're such a deal. That said, I did manage to coax a Proteus 2000 w/Techno Construction card out of Toronto for $200 an EX5R from Calgary for $200 and a JX10 w/PG800 and 4 M64C cards out of Nashville for $500. Depending on where they are sometimes they just get no bites.
But 99.9 times out of 100 the answer to inquiries is no as Craiglist actually warns people not to deal out of town. But I still make them. Almost had a syncussion for $500 but the guy ended up selling it in town after all.

Excuse the cross-post, but I shoulda put it here to begin with: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewt ... &sk=t&sd=a
Seriously: Purchased in 1980, and - Still. In. The. Damn box. Lady had bought it, originally, to play jazz keys (?!) and when learning that it wasn't especially jazzy, sealed it back up and put it in the basement. This is nature's way of balancing out that MG1 I paid way too much for.

Re: you're killing me! (inexpensive sold craigslist gear)
I once bought an EMS VCS3 for $600. The dude was originally asking $700, but I talked him down to $600. After I bought it I brought it into a local used music shop to see about getting some pins and the clerk recognized it. Anyway, it ended up being stollen from Carleton University and was confiscated by the police. I got my money back in full a year later. Great story. brings a tear to my eye everytime I tell it...

Re: you're killing me! (inexpensive sold craigslist gear)
Last Monday a grandma posted a best offer ad for a working SCI Prophet 5 here in Reno. Turns out some guy named Hank Woods 'took that old hunk of junk' off her hands for free, then immediately turned around and posted it for sale for $4500. What a gent!
I missed that by a few hours.
I also recently missed:
-Akai AX-80 - $170
-Arp explorer broken - $170
