m83 live equipment (if anybody interested)

Post by Umbe78 » Tue Nov 04, 2008 9:49 am

Yesterday I was at Milan seeing M83 ... first time in Italy I think ...

I don't know all his guitar pedals , I recognised few but I won't speak about them

He uses Dave Smith Evolver desktop, Livewire modular, Nord Lead 2 Rack, a midi controller and Ableton Live
The girl who plays keyboard uses a Prophet 08 and Yamaha Motif ..

He passed to Dave Smith Instruments

I am now interested in seeing M83, and I see they'll be here in about 2 weeks, sweet!

How were they live?

Now I regret I didn't take a camera at the gig...
maybe the gig has been a bit short (1 hour - 1 hour 10 min) but very powerful !!
They played 10-11 songs plus an intro, obviously none from the first album and Digital Shades .. played all the "singles" of other albums, some in a rearranged version ... with the sound of modular and drones and a longer version...
Anthony and the band ended with Colours, lasted about 8-10 minutes and so also the previous song "A guitar and a heart".

I don't remember the order exactly ... but in the setlist there was INTRO, RUN INTO FLOWERS, MOONCHILD, *, KIM & JESSIE, DON'T SAVE US FROM THE FLAMES, WE OWN THE SKY,TEEN ANGST, GRAVEYARD GIRL, A GUITAR AND A HEART, COLOURS

to Hair : Take better pictures than me!
