Go West 1st album synths

Hi all, I've been listening to quite a bit of the self titled debut album from 1985 by Go West recently. The synth work in it is really nice (especially in 'we close our eyes', 'call me' and 'dont look down').
Unfortunately I'm not one of these synth gurus who can listen to a sound and tell what synth it was made on, but i bet there's a lot of people on here who can ;)
I'm mostly after knowing what synth/s they use for the polyphonic chordy stuff on the 3 songs above.

Cheers guys

Roland Jupiter 8 (the main "Call Me" pad)
Yamaha DX7 (they basically stepped through a bunch of presets through "We Close Our Eyes")

I'm sure there's the same Oberheim, Prophet, PPG, etc. you'd expect from any mid-80s record.

Exactly. Also for some other sounds (not only that pad) they used the JP-8 as far as I know.
Maybe our absolute specialist on this matter will have more exact facts. Micke ?

I've seen them listed as JX-8P users on VSE and Synthmuseum. In A-Z, Peter Forrest states they used both the 8P and the JX-10, as well as the SH-101 (bassline in "We Close Our Eyes"), and the OSCar.

I think I was about 12-13 when that album came out. I was just getting into synths at the time and liked a lot of the sounds they used.

That opening riff on 'We Close Our Eyes' has to be the hookiest synth riff ever. Couldn't get it out of my head for weeks...

Ah thanks guys, great Go West knowledge
The main 'call me' pad just has such a fizzy, rich sound, I should have known it would be a JP-8
really.

I was interested to hear they used the JX-8P and super JX.

** since posting this I have bought a Jupiter 8, it's one of the earlier ones but at some point the OS has been upgraded to 3.4. Picking it up next week, cant wait!
