i know there is VAT, duty and handling charges...

anyone any experience with importing a big item into the UK?

was it OK?

I imported a Matrix 12 a couple of years ago, had to pay about 21% on the total cost of the M12 & shipping, it might be less now as VAT has gone down (if that applies to imports), so for $2550 you'd pay $536

I bought it from analogue haven and they shipped it via UPS, who paid the import taxes then I paid UPS on delivery, they didn't charge extra for this, it was included.

It was OK, a bit stressful as I had to have a day off work to wait for UPS, who then didn't show, but I left a note for them to ring me when they arrived on the next day and they did and I nipped out of work to accept delivery :)
